Admission Scheme for the Second Generation of Chinese Hong Kong Permanent Residents (ASSG)
Persons who are the second generation of emigrated Chinese Hong Kong permanent residents from overseas may apply to return to work in the HKSAR under the Admission Scheme for the Second Generation of Chinese Hong Kong Permanent Residents (the ASSG).
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be aged 18 or above;
- The applicant should not have any criminal record or adverse immigration record in Hong Kong or elsewhere;
- The applicant must be able to demonstrate that he/she is capable of supporting and accommodating himself/herself and his/her dependents on his/her own financial resources without relying on public assistance during his/her stay in Hong Kong;
- The applicant should be proficient in written and spoken Chinese or English;
- The applicant must have a good education background, normally a first degree from a recognized university or a tertiary educational institution
Required Documents
- Recent Photograph
- Travel Document
- Evidence of the applicant's relationship with his/her Chinese Hong Kong Permanent Resident parent(s) e.g. applicant's birth certificate
- Valid Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card of applicant's parent(s)
- Proof of academic qualifications and relevant work experience
- Applicant's financial standing
Limit of Stay
Persons admitted under the Scheme will normally be granted an initial stay of 24 months, and may apply for extension of stay within 4 weeks before their limit of stay expires. Successful applicants will normally be permitted to remain on time limitation only without other conditions of stay on the 3-3 year pattern.
